Awkward Hug

Review

Awkward Hug is a charming and endearing one-man monologue that dives deep into the life of a young man as he attempts to gain a better understanding of himself, and navigate through the relationships of those closest to him. Punctuated with funny anecdotes and witty humour, the main character, Cory, describes his most poignant experiences from losing his virginity to understanding his parents’ struggle with cerebral palsy.  Told in a light-hearted and conversational tone, this oral memoir is engaging from start to finish. Cory Thibert is a captivating actor and storyteller who wins his audience over with the genuine heart he puts into sharing his personal experiences. Thibert gives an earnest performance that leaves you wanting more than 60 minutes of thought-provoking narration. If you are looking for a funny and heartfelt show, Awkward Hug delivers in every way. -Janelle Escott

Cory is an entertaining, engaging storyteller. If you like Sam Mullins, this play would be totally up your alley too.
