Ben Price Magic Presents Rabbit Stew

Review

Dapper Calgary magician Ben Price puts together an entertaining hour of sleight of hand, card tricks, and mentalism. In his first foray into public shows, he presents a number of tricks as classic as cups and balls, and as unique as guessing the dates and times of a randomly selected show from the Fringe program. His droll persona and acerbic wit pull him through the show and keep the audience engaged through every illusion. Price enjoys ribbing the audience, especially the kids who occasionally make very audible comments. But he also seemed to get thrown off by his two zealous and young volunteers during a card trick, and slipped up during a trick where he guesses the first word on a page from a book that a volunteer chooses at random. Even so, you’ll have plenty of fun if you’re a fan of magic. —Connor Meeker

To call Ben just a magician is wrong. He is a true performer. His performance of magical effects and slight of hands mixed with his witty, sharp humour made for a potent combination
that was highly entertaining. I would recommend seeing this show if you enjoy comedy or magic, and especially if you enjoy both!

Ben does a wonderful job of infusing his magic show with a fun atmosphere and a quick wit. With plenty of audience participation and laughs all the way through, this is one of the most entertaining shows I’ve been to at the fringe. Some of the tricks are really mind bending, others are simple but fun, making this an appropriate show for all ages!

Ben Price had us laughing from the beginning of the show until long after we left. His quips are as quick as his magic abilities. Definitely recommend seeing this show

I’m a magician and as such, I make it a point to watch every magic show that plays at the Fringe. Ben’s show was easily the most professionally produced magic show that I’ve seen this year. From costuming to staging, scripting and timing, the show was incredible from start to finish. Thank you Ben for treating Edmonton audiences with a sampling of Rabbit Stew. It was delicious!
