BLIND TO HAPPINESS

Review

What if Trailer Park Boys was set in Ottawa? This touching, darkly hilarious play might just be the result. Blind to Happiness by Tim C. Murphy is a story about three men who happen to work in a restaurant together and struggle to find happiness while envying the seemingly better lives of one another. While one of the characters can be grating at times, each one is uniquely relatable and interesting. While Murphy starts slow in the beginning, he succeeds with humour and his near supernatural ability to switch between his characters. Blind to Happiness features an impressive use of simple props and lighting to set the stage. Reviewed by Chris Berthelot

This is a must see show! I laughed and I cried. I loved the main character Couks and the smooth character transitions with the Tragically Hip tunes.

Started slow, with the most annoying of characters. Luckily I didn’t walk out, because halfway through, this shitshow turned into a winner! Full of heart and compassion.
