Heirloom Toys

Review

Deflying Feets presents Heirloom Toys, a story of an old tinkerer in a toy workshop, all performed through aerial acrobatics. The story unfolds as the characters perform numerous impressive stunts on silks, ropes, and trapeze bars—but at times lags and becomes just a couple people swinging around on ropes. The story can also be hard to comprehend at times, most likely due to the fact that there are no real spoken words throughout the play. The final set of stunts was quite entertaining, but ended anticlimactically, leaving the audience a little underwhelmed. A word of advice: try and sit a few rows back if you check out the show. There were times when some of the aerial stunts got real close to hitting someone in the front row. —Alexander Sorochan
