Hushabye – A Doomsday Comedy

Review

A bizarre but hilarious look at a clown couple. Presented by Sizzle and Spark, a hilarious clown duo, "Hushabye" tells the story of a clown couple doing whatever it takes to have a baby. The dynamic between the two clowns was both wonderfully weird and hilarious as they spoke in pseudo-Italian English gibberish and engaged the crowd with their hilarious antics. Physical comedy was at the forefront—displayed by Jed Tomlinson and Jacqueline Russell—and was also very well timed, and even edgy. The sexual components in particular had the audience in sidesplitting laughter, with even a few members of the audience asked to partake in the couple’s shenanigans. With the elaborate costumes, makeup and interesting set design, as well as the sound effects, this show proved to be wonderfully bizarre but equally hilarious. —Pierre Royal

What a fantastic clown show, a very realistic portrayal of love, marriage and making a baby.  Like the best clown shows, they make the absurd feel like truth and the truth feel absurd .
Great performance, very talented clowns. Made me laugh, made me cry, made me think about what it means to be human.
