Jake’s Gift

Review

I loved Jake’s Gift. This play is dramatic, touching, and hilarious. The two main Character’s will have you busting a gut with their back and forth theatrics. Whilst sitting in the play I notice many sniffling sounds coming from all direction., I began scanning the room for dust particles but I quickly realize that these were actually tears. The crowd was extremely moved by this performance; the story line and delivery is phenomenal. It is very easy to see why Julia Mackey received a standing ovation today. Her craft and skill for being able to seamlessly move from one character to the next is an art in itself. It’s one of the best plays I have seen at this year’s fringe festival thus far. -Alexis Reid

Experienced Jake’s Gift today. It was moving. Got me right in the throat. Several times.

Damn good story. Damned good performance. I’m glad Julia Mackey came back to Edmonton.
