James & Jamesy in the Dark

Review

Nothing quite captures your attention like a light in the dark. Make that two lights. James & Jamesy In The Dark is aptly titled, albeit that the titular characters are both named James and despite that this may be amiss to some, the placement of venue could not have been more accurate for a play of this ideology. Taking place at the L’Uni’Theatre off of the beaten path of the Fringe grounds could not have been better suited for a play that is in itself very much off of the beaten path of what you may expect from your average play. Thought-provoking, suggestable and childishly playful with its big ideas, James & Jamesey sneaks into your mind and suggests its tale to tell is your own. Moving in a way that feels like babies would play if they could talk and walk, you find yourself giggling at the nuance of every movement made in anticipation for the relief of realizing what’s next to come.  – Frank Fougere
