Kingfisher Days

Review

From fairy princess pen pals, fast-paced live set changes and more random gardening knowledge than you’ll ever need, Kingfisher Days by Susan Coyne is an attention-holding performance that feels rushed and frantic at some points, calm and serendipitous at others—bringing the viewer back to a simpler time in life. The story focuses on the inquisitive mind and elaborate imagination of five-year-old Susan Coyne and her summer spent in Kenora, Ontario at a small cottage on Lake of the Woods with her family. Kingfisher Days is a story about living life and growing up that can only be so perfectly canonized through the youthful exuberance and curiosity of a child. Reviewed by Nicholas Hobson.
