Mind Magic

Review

Put aside your disbelief for an hour and prepare to feel mentalist Louis Pezzani bend your mind. Using his powers of influence, card-counting, and—if you’ll believe him—mind reading, Pezzani takes the audience through a series of cool tricks from guessing numbers to naming that celebrity you’re thinking of. He even breaks the magician’s code and explains how he’s playing the odds or watching volunteers closely for tells. Aided by a slightly melodramatic flair and cheesy puns, he transitions through the show well and deserves bonus points for his friendly and patient nature, particularly with a few slow participants who had trouble following basic instructions. (And with many demonstrations, the odds are high you’ll have to participate!) None of his tricks are jaw-dropping show-stoppers, but you’ll still have a fun time and be left wondering if Pezzani truly used his psychokinetic powers to bend that silverware. – Matthew Stepanic

Mind Magic is an amazing show with a very likeable performer. Mentalist Louis Pezzani starts out by reading people’s body language and quickly starts “reading minds”. He also memorizes a deck of cards in under 30 seconds, and bends cutlery in the most incredible ways. I thought I knew the tricks involved in spoon bending but this really blew me (and the rest of the audience) away. The show is also very funny. Pezzani’s humor ranges from goofy and self-deprecating to some very hip lines which could easily go over a lot of people’s heads. Very cool show and highly recommended!

I really liked this brand of magic. Pezzani is very engaging and treats his many audience volunteers with respect and courtesy – really nice to see, and too rare with entertainers for my liking. He’s also one of the best mentalists I’ve seen – his “mindreading” and metal bending was genuinely mindblowing.Highly recommended.

Not sure if Mr Stepanic saw the same show as the rest of us at the Saturday night Mind Magic performance. I didn’t see any melodrama and the show largely did consist of “jaw-dropping show-stoppers”. I thought it was totally amazing, and so did the rest of the full-house with a lot of gasps, “no ways”, and laughter. Pezzani is very funny and puts his audience at ease. I was worried about being selected for the show but after seeing how politely the audience volunteers are treated, I was hoping I would be chosen by the end. I can see this show appealing to everyone – really great stuff.
