No Exit

Review

No Exit is hands down one of the best plays at this year’s Edmonton Fringe Festival. Fringers will probably already be familiar with Jean-Paul Sartre’s 70-minute piece, but for those who aren’t, No Exit is the story of the three recently deceased strangers with nothing but to do but keep each other company in hell. As the story unfolds, each one learns why the other two are there with devastating consequences. It’s a heavy piece, and requires a phenomenal cast. Luckily, Belinda Cornish, Ron Pederson and Louise Lambert are committed performers—one of the most professional and captivating casts this year. Their pacing is nearly perfect and they inhabit their characters expertly. See this show. It’s a gripping story performed by actors on top of their game. If you’re a fan of The Twilight Zone, then you especially shouldn’t miss No Exit. Reviewed by Lucas Provencher.

Caught in a hell they didn’t expect the characters try to reconcile their deeds and one and other as a punishment. Belinda Cornish’s performance is outstanding. Go to this one.

I agree this is the best play I have seen at the fringe or in Edmonton for awhile. Great ensemble acting but especially Belinda Cornish who just relishes her role, chortling and devilish. Well done!

I seem to be in the minority in my dislike of this play. I went in with high expectations, but just ended up bored and confused. I wish I had spent my time at a different show.

Best show this year (along with prophecy). I wish I knew it was written by Sartre then I would check it out sooner!
