One Man Lord Of The Rings

One Man Lord of the Rings delivers exactly what its name suggests—one man pouring out his heart, soul, and sweat ( literally) to perform the entire trilogy in merely 75 minutes. Charles Ross’ performance is not only unescapably energetic, engaging, and hilarious, but remarkably impressive as he manages to embody the sights and sounds of herds of orcs, frightened hobbits, horseback battles, and a very convincing Gollum. Sprinkled with witty references to other sagas like Star Wars and The Matrix, Ross does a fabulous job connecting with his audience in the midst of his hysterically chaotic, ambitious, and triumphant undertaking. A true delight for any Lord of the Rings fan. – Veronica Petrola

This was a real hoot! Sound effects, bonus elements included Braveheart and Matrix, and physical drama were fabulous! Gollum was brilliant. Very engaging and funny. I really enjoyed it and encourage Tolkien and Peter Jackson fans to go and watch!

Charles is now a true inspiration for me- as an Edmonton Fringe performer who hasn’t left the province to act.
This show didn’t go two minutes without raising booming laughter from the audience, a lot of effort was obviously put into his performance.
From Sméagol to Theodin, Charles played every single character, including the nine-character Fellowhip. Including sound effects. Let me rub that in- the only outside help he got was from tech, who only adjusted the lights. I’m completely in love with his adaptation and was captivated by his performance. Overall, I’m starstruck. This is wonderful.
