Rig Pig Fantasia

Review

I don’t know what I was expecting when I walked into Rig Pig Fantasia, but it was definitely not what I got–and that's not a bad thing. With the tagline “Donuts. Dance. Environmental Armageddon,” I was expecting a lighthearted romp that poked fun at the oil fields, but Rig Pig Fantasia was much darker. Sure, there were some funny moments, but it was a surprisingly thought-provoking look at the environmental damage of oil rigs and the relationships of the workers. One big problem was that at a certain point, it was revealed that a character was using a fake name, but after the reveal, they continued referring to her by her fake name. I don’t know if that was a slip of the actors or a problem in scripting, but it stood out. More dance could have also been involved in the play. – Alex Sorochan

Thought provoking for sure and a lot of symbolism which really made us really think. 6 of us went to the play and we talked about it all night. Really enjoyed the performance there was fun parts but also lots to think about. Great play.
