Rocko And Nakota: Tales From The Land

Review

In this one-man performance, star and creator Josh Languedoc takes his audience on a spirited journey of Indigenous storytelling. Playing multiple characters simultaneously, Languedoc brings to life Nakota, a young boy who struggles with an anxiety disorder, and Rocko, Nakota’s wise old grandfather who visits him and shares elaborate, moving tales that give him hope and inspiration. Performing a one-man show is a difficult task, but Languedoc’s bold stage presence and gifted storytelling ability allows him to deliver the play with ease and confidence. He makes excellent use of the stage, and has an effortless capability to transition from one character to another in order to convey the powerful story. During the 45-minute show, audience members are treated to vivid, emotional tales with a touch of humour (and a ton of heart) that will be sure to interest people both young and old. -Heather Gunn
