The 11 O’Clock Number: the improvised musical

Review

An improvised musical in the classic Sondheim sense. The sharp cast works together to build a semi-cohesive story based on suggestions from the audience. The talent on stage is evident, their voices are harmonious, and the product they put forth is genuinely impressive. Four-part harmonies being created on the fly blend together to a delightful timbre. The teamwork and communication on stage leave something to be desired but that’s something that comes with time, and they certainly have plenty of that. Even after the Fringe you can catch this musical act every Friday at 7 o’clock at the new Grindstone Theatre just off Whyte! It's a great date idea. Come on out and catch 11 O’clock Number this Fringe if you’re a fan of musical theatre. – Joel Taras
