The Ever After – A Musical

Review

What happens after “Happily Ever After”? Some of Fairy Tales most beloved and reviled find themselves on a talk show attempting to reconcile their differences. The pantomime-style romp features an original song cycle, prop humour, and a staggering number of people for the size of the stage. As someone with troubled hearing, I found myself struggling against the acoustics of the space and the intermittent microphones, but there were some beautiful voices onstage. The actors are clearly having fun in this wacky show with so many moving parts and so much audience interaction, which makes for a high energy labour of love. If you want to see a magic mirror do the Cadillac Ranch, or an even further anthropomorphized Jiminy Cricket, this is the show for you.  —Sarah Culkin

A funny, fun and energetic performance for the whole family. You could tell how much the cast were enjoying themselves on stage which made it that much more enjoyable as an audience member. Catchy tunes, great voices and fun choreography.

I really enjoyed watching this play. There were jokes, laughter, dancing and songs.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The audience members were giggling and laughing out loud during the show. Safe for families with young children.

Fun, cute show, suitable for all ages. Some real standout performances from an energetic and talented cast. Taylor as one of the old ladies, Heeyun as Snow White and Maya as Sally were great! The only criticisms I have was the music drowned out some of the singing and the dancing overwhelmed the featured performers during their songs so it lost a little focus.
Overall a great show with catchy tunes!Great work Sherard!
