Timmy, Tommy, & the Haunted Hotel

Review

The Barrington Hotel, circa 1920, is a place where love, betrayal, fear, redemption and hope are in the air. And, it’s just “two ordinary kids” (well, not very ordinary) living in an un-extraordinary town, who must come to grapple with some tough challenges on the path towards change and overcoming uncertainty. In the eponymously named Barrington Hotel, they encounter some very lively (well, not exactly living) characters that in turn help them build their character. The themes are addressed in a darkly comedic way and the use of puppets by Pape and Taper Productions allow more room for the intensity of such themes to be explored in more entertaining ways. I’d definitely say this show is worth your hard earned money. With original music that fits the script and characters aptly, effective, playful and humorous work by the actors and let’s not forget, puppets, you’ve got a bonafide winner of a show.
