[title of show]

Review

I usually detest musicals.  I think it's the whole 'let's sing everything in our heads' formula that really grinds my gears. This formula does work, however, during [title of show], a musical about two guys writing a musical about two guys writing a musical. The show is both a love letter, and almost parody, of the chaotic and whimsical situations both actors and directors are forced to endure during the writing process. The chemistry between all actors is strong and each character's little quirks (they're playing themselves) all shine through during the 90 minutes. The only downfall is the choice to make the performance 90 minutes. Some of the numbers drag on and feel a bit forced. A run time of 60 minutes might improve this. Still, this show is perfect for lovers of theatre, and those that want a fly on the wall perspective of the wonderful madness. – Stephan Boissonneault
