Today, For Now

Review

An asteroid is on course to destroy the entire Earth in two weeks—what would you do with the time you have left? Today, For Now presents us a series of broadly comic vignettes envisioning the possibilities. Among them include an intrepid news crew who keep broadcasting into the world's final days, a college intern who inadvertently becomes president, and a manic theatre director who decides to put on the best one-woman 12 Angry Men performanc that the Waterloo-Kitchener area has ever seen. Performers Valerie Cotic and Jeff Leard seem indefatigable as they jump from character to character in this fast-paced and sharply satirical comedy. Impending apocalypse and dystopia stories carry a lot of currency these days—Today, For Now effectively capitalizes on the trend. -Connor Meeker

So funny! Characters are well developed and the players make it move quick and effortlessly. In one scene the audience was laughing so hard I don’t think you could hear them anymore.

Jeff Leard always delivers and with a costar this year it just gets better. They effortlessly jump between scenes and characters always getting the voices right. A must see
