Tuesdays and Sundays

Review

Tuesdays & Sundays, a music-less, choreographed two-person play in period costume with a unique rhythm and almost no set, tells the story of the courtship and eventual ruin of Mary Tuplin and William Millman in 1880s Margate, Prince Edward Island.  While the vocal delivery is sometimes a little flat, Megan Beaupré and Justin Kautz nonetheless advance their story skillfully through the interplay of rhythmic, repetitive dialogue and a blend of ballet and contemporary dance, the work of Krista Posyniak. A graceful and enticing interpretation of true events from the distant-ish past, Tuesdays & Sundays—both the play itself and Beaupré and Kautz’s after-show talk about the work’s origins— is worthwhile for lovers of dance, history, and tragedy alike. - Will Belton
